CHRISTOFLE
OH MON BATEAU
Project Overview
For its summer 2019 collection, Christofle Paris designed two window displays for its two stores in Manhattan. The larger store had an ocean scene composed of eighteen layered panels that created natural pedestals for product display, along with four seagulls. The smaller store had colored floorboards and three standing 'wave' panels to separate small risers for product display.
The design process was fairly straightforward because Christofle's overseas design team had provided vector drawings for each wave; all that was left to do was scale them for the CNC router, accounting for the bit thickness to fit into the panels the base slots without struggle. However, every single file was corrupted, so the vectors had to be reconstructed one by one in Adobe Illustrator. The final product came out very clean, especially with a fresh coat of paint.
