Overview
After the design parameters and design direction have been finalized in a written 'design brief,' the first phase of action is called concept development. In this phase, hazy ideas begin to take shape, and designers ideate by brainstorming, creating Pinterest boards and exploring features and functions. By the end of this phase, designers should have a clearer image of the product-to-be. The next phase is a rinse-and-repeat cycle of 3D modeling, computer-aided design, prototyping, and testing. Once the design concept is satisfactory, the last phase is finalizing the CAD model with the option of a photorealistic 3D render to be presented to the client.
An efficient and accurate design process can heavily improve the success of a product.
